INTERxVENT®USA is an individualized, lifestyle management and cardiovascular risk reduction program which incorporates; nutrition, smoking cessation, exercise, stress management, weight management and cholesterol, diabetes and blood pressure control. Its name is taken from the word “intervene” which means “to change the course of.” This program enables you to take steps to change the course of your life – forever. The symbol Rx means INTERxVENT®USA is scientifically proven and includes your personal prescription for good health. - Exercise Regularly - Eat a variety of low-fat foods - Maintain a healthy weight - Don't use tobacco - Control your blood pressure and cholesterol But "Knowing is Not the Same as Doing" Many people are not ready to make a major change or don't know how to fit in something new with all of their other priorities. Now there is a program to help you acquire and practice the lifestyle skills you already know are important. It's called INTERxVENT. INTERxVENT is an individualized lifestyle management and cardiovascular risk reduction program. INTERxVENT goes beyond "knowing" to "doing". We don't prescribe medications. If drug therapy is an option for you, you will be referred to your personal physician. Your personal physician remains responsible for your medical care. And, we encourage you to keep your physician informed of your progress. The INTERxVENT Approach INTERxVENT uses state-of-the-art behavior change techniques to provide you with a comprehensive program that includes exercise training, correct nutrition, weight management, stress management and if applicable, smoking cessation. Your Participation in INTERxVENT Includes: - An initial evaluation of your current health behaviors, risk factors for chronic disease readiness for change, eating habits and physical activity level - Realistic short-term and long-term goals to reduce your risk factors and improve your health - An individualized Personal Action Plan for achieving your goals through healthful eating, weight management, regular exercise, stress management, smoking cessation and other lifestyle changes - One-on-one coaching by highly qualified, experienced health professionals called "mentors" - Easy-to-understand educational kits and audios covering more than 50 specific topics and skills - Self-management tools to monitor your eating and exercise - On-going support, motivation, re-evaluation and revision of your Personal Action Plan - Tracking for adherence and quality assurance Time Efficient and Effective If you ask most people why they don't exercise, eat healthier or manage stress better, they'll say they're too busy. INTERxVENT is both time efficient and effective. You work one-on-one with one of our mentors to implement an individualized plan that addresses your specific goals, preferences and circumstances.
